Sales channels

A sales channel represents one place you sell — a marketplace, your own online store, an offline location, social media, or direct sales. Every sale in Masto Control is registered against a channel, which is what keeps per-channel reporting clean.

Creating a channel

A channel has:

  • Name and type — manual, a link/URL, a site, or a connected integration (currently Shopify)
  • Commission % — the cut the channel takes, used in BOM margin calculations (see BOM cards → Pricing & margin)
  • Active/inactive status — deactivating a channel keeps its historical sales data but stops new sales from being registered against it

What happens when a sale is registered

Registering a sale against a channel:

  1. Deducts the sold quantity from finished-goods stock
  2. Records which channel it came from
  3. Feeds sales analytics — both overall and broken down per channel

Etsy

Etsy exists in the data model as a sales-channel type but is not yet a working integration — there's no live API connection. It's hidden from the channel-type picker in the app for now. If you need it, contact support.

For a real, working integration today, see Shopify.
